24/7 clearance cover

Air cargo does not arrive on office hours. Out-of-hours and weekend entries at every airport on this page.

Free clearance at Heathrow

Based at Heathrow

Our office is at Skyport Drive, Harmondsworth, minutes from the cargo terminals. See our Heathrow service.

How to choose a customs broker for airport cargo

Air freight is bought for speed, and a slow broker gives back the days the airline saved. Comparing brokers on the declaration fee alone misses what actually decides how fast the cargo leaves the shed.

1. What does clearance actually cost at your airport?

Ours is free on Heathrow air freight — we charge nothing for the clearance itself and you pay only the HMRC duty and VAT due. At the other airports on this page declarations start at £35. Any broker quoting a flat fee should tell you what it covers and how many commodity codes are assumed.

2. Are they near the cargo terminal?

Most of a clearance is electronic, but not all of it. When a consignment is selected for examination, or an airline needs a document physically presented, distance turns hours into days. We are at Harmondsworth, minutes from the Heathrow cargo centre.

3. Will they answer at 2am?

Freighters land through the night and shed storage is charged by the day. A broker working office hours will pick up a Sunday-morning arrival on Monday. Ask directly what their out-of-hours process is before you need it.

4. Do they handle the goods you actually ship?

Pharmaceuticals, perishables, aircraft parts and lithium batteries each carry their own licensing and documentation requirements, and an entry filed without them is an entry that gets queried. Ask whether the broker has cleared your commodity before, not just your airport.

UK airport customs clearance — common questions

Which UK airports do you clear air freight at?

Heathrow, East Midlands, Manchester, Stansted, Birmingham and Gatwick. The same team files every entry, so shipping through more than one airport does not mean appointing more than one broker.

How much does air freight customs clearance cost?

Clearance is free on air freight arriving at Heathrow — you pay only the HMRC duty and VAT actually due on the goods. At the other UK airports declarations start at £35.

How fast can air cargo be cleared?

Where documents are complete, shipments are cleared within hours of the cargo becoming available, and entries can be pre-lodged against the flight so nothing waits on the declaration. What causes delay is almost always a document problem — a missing commodity code, an unsigned invoice, or a licence that was not applied for.

Do you handle urgent and out-of-hours air freight?

Yes. Freighters land overnight and at weekends, and entries are filed the same day rather than held to the next working morning. See our urgent customs clearance service.

What do you need from me to clear an air shipment?

The air waybill, a commercial invoice, a packing list, your EORI number, and the commodity code if you already have it. If you do not have an EORI yet, start here — it is needed before any declaration can be filed.
